Max Payne is back! Remedy Entertainment has announced that the legendary Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2 games will receive an official remake. This good news comes from a post Remedy posted on its investor page. The announcement states that the company has reached an agreement with Rockstar Games (which owns the Max Payne license) and that the remake is currently at a very early stage of development.

The Max Payne remake will use Remedy's Northlight Engine, the same one we had a chance to see in the fantastic "Control" game. Everyone is thrilled with the fact that there is talk of a remake of the original Max Payne titles. Romedy has done a lot over the years. And everyone can't wait to play the new versions. By the way, Remedy Entertainment has developed the first two Max Payne titles, while Rockstar owns the license and they have developed Max Payne 3.

Max Payne will always have a special place in the hearts of gamers from the beginning of this century. It is a detective action game from the third person that popularized a concept called "bullet time" (slow motion while throwing and shooting). But, although the bullet was an attractive thing, the game is best remembered for its fantastic atmosphere and the story of a police officer who found his dead family and starts his revenge campaign. Due to the limited budget, the story was made in the form of a comic strip, but that is exactly why it gained its legendary status.

The remake will include the first two games in one "package" and will be available on PC, PS5, and new Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, as the remake is at a very early stage of development (concept development), we still don't know the approximate release date.
